In you, Yahweh, I seek refuge;
do not let me ever be put to shame;
because of your fidelity to your relationship with me, deliver me.
Incline your ear to me;
deliver me quickly.
Be for me a mountain refuge;
a strong fortress to save me.
You are indeed my rock and my fortress;
for the sake of your name [Yahweh] lead me and guide me.
Take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I entrust my spirit;
you have been the best mother and father I ever had,
Yahweh, you faithful God.
Here ends the first segment of the psalm for the 5th Sunday of Easter and the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, Series A
I hate those who cling to worthless idols,
but I put my trust in Yahweh.
Let me exult and rejoice in your loyalty,
because you have seen my affliction;
you know the distresses of my spirit.
You have not handed me over into the hand of the enemy;
You have made my feet stand in a broad place.
Here begins the Psalm segment for Palm Sunday
Be gracious to me, Yahweh, for I am in distress;
my eye wastes away from grief;
my innermost being and also my body.
For my life is spent with sorrow,
my years with sighing;
my strength fails because of my affliction,
and my bones waste away.
I am an object of reproach to all my adversaries,
to my neighbors a dreaded sight,
a horror to all my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street flee from me.
I have passed from memory like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
For I hear the whispering of many--terror all around!--
as they scheme together against me,
as they plot to take my life.
But I trust in you, Yahweh;
I say, "You are my God."
Here begins the second segment of the psalm for the 5th Sunday of Easter, Series A
My times are in your hand;
deliver me from the hand of my enemies and those who pursue after me.
Let your face shine upon your servant;
Save me because of your loyalty.
Here ends the Psalm segment for Palm Sunday and the second segment of the psalm for the 5th Sunday of Easter, Series A
Yahweh, let me not be put to shame,
for I call on you;
Let the wicked be put to shame;
let them go dumbfounded to Sheol.
Let the lying lips be silenced,
that speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt.
Here begins the second segment of the psalm for the 2nd Sunday after Pentecost, Series A
How abundant is your goodness
that you have stored up for those who fear you,
you bestow it on those who take refuge in you,
in the sight of all humanity.
You hide them in the shelter of your presence,
far from human plotting,
shielding them in your shelter
from contentious tongues.
Blessed be Yahweh,
for he has marvelously shown his loyalty to me
in a time of distress.
I said in my panic,
"I am driven far from your sight."
But you heard my supplications
when I cried out for your help.
Love Yahweh, all those who are loyal to him.
Yahweh preserves the faithful,
but recompenses abundantly the one who acts haughtily.
Be strong, and let your heart take courage,
all you who put your hope in Yahweh.
