Psalm 85

Yahweh, you have been favorable to your land,

you have restored the fortunes of Jacob. (1)

You have forgiven the iniquity of your people,

you have covered all their sin. (2)

You have pulled back all your wrath,

you have turned yourself from your fierce anger. (3)

Restore us, O God of our salvation,

put away your vexation with us. (4)

Will you be angry with us forever?

Will you prolong your anger for generation after generation? (5)

Will you not turn and give us life,

That your people may rejoice in you? (6)

Show us, Yahweh, your loyalty;

give us your salvation. (7)

Let me hear what God Yahweh speaks,

for he will command peace to his people and to his loyal ones.

Do not turn back to folly! (8)

Surely God’s salvation is near to those who fear him,

so that God’s glory may dwell in our land. (9)

and truth meet together,

righteousness and peace kiss each other. (10)

Truth will spring up from the ground,

righteousness will look down from the sky. (11)

Surely Yahweh will give that which is good,

and our land will yield its harvest. (12)

Righteousness marches before Yahweh,

and makes a path for Yahweh’s feet. (13)
