Psalm 95

Invitation to Praise

Come, let us give a ringing cheer for Yahweh;

Let us acclaim our saving rock.

Let us come before his face with thanksgiving;

Let us acclaim him with songs.

Reasons for Praise

For Yahweh is a great God,

A great ruler over all the gods.

In his hand are the deepest parts of the underworld;

The tops of the mountains also belong to him.

His is the sea, he made it;

The dry land--his hands shaped.

Invitation to Praise

Enter, let us prostrate ourselves,

bend low,

and kneel before Yahweh, the one who made us.

Reasons for Praise

For he is our God;

        We are the people of his pasture,

        the sheep of his hand.

Here ends the psalm segment for Christ the King, Series A

Prophet: "Oh that you would obey his voice today!"[1]

Yahweh: "Do not harden your heart as at  Meribah (contention);

As on the day of Massah (testing) in the wilderness.

Your parents tested me;

They put me on trial, even though they had seen my deed![2]

Forty years I loathed that generation.

I said, `They are a people of errant heart.

They do not acknowledge my ways.'

So I swore in my anger that they would not enter my rest."[3]

[1] But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called "today," so that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 3:13

[2] Is the LORD among us or not? Exod 17:1-7

[3] So then, a Sabbath rest still remains for the people of God; for those who enter God's rest also cease from their labors as God did from his. Let us therefore make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one may fall through such disobedience as theirs. Heb 3:9-11.
